Here’s a look at the design we are implementing this spring for our clients multifaceted office space. The design is all about maximizing square footage and rethinking how we see the space in our own homes. This room is a highly functional space in our client's home - it needs to act as a place of inspiration, a photography studio, a podcast recording studio, an audition space, a crafting space, an office space, a comfy space to unwind, and a place where guests can comfortably stay the night. By reframing how we utilized the closet, prioritizing modular furniture and rethinking "negative space", we were able to fulfill all of these differing needs. The design we landed on feels very eclectic, english cottage - it’s a bit of old-world charm, with artful patterns, layered textures, and bold colors all focused on creating a warm, inviting retreat full of cozy comforts.
It is hugely important to us when we redesign spaces in peoples homes that we try to use as many elements from their home as possible. For this design, we were able to identify and create a concept around using the clients existing dresser, display cabinet, sewing machine desk, vintage cafe table, and key artwork and decor pieces.
